I came to my gyno today for a pap smear and to check my left breast. I started having pain underneath my right breast a few days ago. Then i did a self breast test and found 2 avergae lump like things in my breast. and when i came today to my doctor and told her, she checked me and confirmed that my breast feels lumpy and she said that i might have cycsts. she told me to make an appointment to a sonogram after i have my period. when i came home i was trying to research whether doing a sonogram before ur period may have any impact on the results but i can seem to find any answers. if anyone knows please let me know because im experinecing pain and im worried, just want to get it over with and find out wat i have. i mean i am 19 with no breast cancer in the family (as far as i know). please if anyone knows let me know
thank you !|||Usually breasts are more swollen and tender just before and during your period. She probably told you to wait so it would be more comfortable for you and because swelling can make accurate results a little harder to get. Call and talk to the radiologist and she what he thinks.|||A mamogram is less uncomfortable to have after your period because before your period, your breasts might be swollen. You're lucky that your gyne told you that. My gyne didn't tell me; I had to find out on my own.
