On the 24th I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer…I am so scared. The drs want to only cut out a portion of my cervix..but there is a chance that it will come back later. Should I have a Hysterectomy, So I dont have to worry about it coming back? I am only 23 years old, I have 2 kids already and i dont plan on having anymore…..What should I do?|||I went for the hysterectomy. Why take a chance with your life?|||I think it all depends upon how advanced the malignancy is. The uterus doesn%26#039;t have to be removed for a minimally invasive cancer. Speak with your doctors.|||You need to discuss all your options with your doctor…|||This is such a personal decision, so I can%26#039;t tell you what you should or shouldn%26#039;t do…only what I would do. I would opt to have a hysterectomy if I didn%26#039;t plan on any more kids, especially if there is a chance (and there always IS a chance) that it could come back later. What a lousy decision to have to make at age 23. I%26#039;m in a similar situation…32 years old w/ uterine cancer, although I never got a chance to have any children. I will have a hysterectomy as soon as I can, even if there was a chance that I didn%26#039;t have to have one, I would still opt for the surgery. My theory is….if there is no chance I can use my reproductive parts…why am I keeping them? Especially since I already have cancer. Best of luck to you in your decision.|||I had endometrial cancer at 31. I had one child, and I did not want any more children. I had the complete hysterectomy. I am glad I had it all done then because any surgery is difficult to get over. You can ask your doctor about preserving your eggs artificially. Best wishes. I am cancer free at 33.|||im going through the same thing im 26 with two boys im have it cut out first and IF it comes back them i will have the hysterectomy
any how good luck
if you want to keep in contact you can email me|||Please demand one, they kept telling me they got all of my cancer. I demanded a hyst. and I still had some, my sister has ovarian cancer so think about having one if you don%26#039;t use it lose it.
