My grandfather went to court and on lawsuit against an absetcis( I know that I did not spell it right, basically, it%26#039;s the stuff they use to put around pipes), he did this for twenty years and developed prostate cancer. His court case his taken eight years, his lawyers are greassy slugs, tryping to cheap him because he is old. He got a large amount out of it, but like I said before, it%26#039;s been over a eight year span, what can he do? how can he talk too? He called the bar association, he said they did nothing..
Thanks|||Asbestos. He can call another attorney. He can fire his present lawyers and the new one will pay them a share of the claim, he won%26#039;t have to. Lots of attorneys specialize in this type of case. Where does he live?|||civil suits take a long time….and it probably wasn%26#039;t HIS attorneys that were causing the delay.
Plaintiff%26#039;s attorneys want to get paid yesterday….the odds are that the defendant%26#039;s attorneys were the ones dragging the case out.
Besides you said he got a large amount of money out of it, meaning the case is over…what are you complaining about?|||Talk to the bailiff of the judge who decided the case. Ask the bailiff what time frame the loosing side had to pay up.
Also ask if the company has paid in full or not, it could be that your grandfather%26#039;s lawyers are taking too big of a chunk out for themselves.
If the loosing side has not paid in full, ask what can be done about it. The bailiff will be able to guide you a bit better in this matter than the peanut gallery here.
