Ok so ive been depressed for a year but since December its gotten to the point that im feeling suicidal. I'm soo depressed its not even funny, i feel weird, i dont feel normal at all. i feel like theirs so much wrong with me, im soo scared of dieing, i think im dieing all the time of cancer or some disease and i dont know why.i think the only thing that would cure me is if the doc's ran tests on me to make sure im completley healthy, but i know if i ask them to do so, they'll think im crazy an just tell me im fine and put me on anti-depressants, and send me home. Christmas eve was the worst for me and it shouldnt have this is how bad my depression is, i went to my dad's for christmas this year and the family were having q christmas party at my aunts, i havent seen most of my family from my dad's side in like 7-8 years and some of them more, anyways, i was excited to go there and what not but as soon as i got to my aunts, depression hit me right in the face, it was horrible.|||Go to the emergency room and get treatment as well as a referral to the appropriate doctor. Suicidal thoughts are nothing to mess with - once they come into your head, sometimes you cannot control where those thoughts go. With the proper help and treatment, this can go away. You need a different doctor.|||Christmas is hard for everyone, especially when every one else seems happy and you don`t. Can you go and see a counsillor? you are ok at work because work probably takes your mind off things for a while. Please get some professional help or some medication, you will come through this, but you do need someone to help you x x x|||Depression is due to an imbalance in brain hormones, so they say. From my experience, my depression was due to an imbalance in my insulin that was causing low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) which can be a cause of depression too. The doctor can do a 5 hour glucose tolerance test (not as bad as it sounds, just boooorrrrring), or a 3 hour with fasting blood insulin test, or you can check yourself out.

Depression is very real and hard to deal with if your trying to deal with it on your own. No doubt you need a supporting cast like a Counselor or Psych. to help you throught these tough times. The side effects of depression is thinking that there are more things wrong with your health but in actuality its just a mind trip caused by your depression. And suicide is a permanent fix to only a temporary problem. You are not alone, many many people struggle with depression including me. We all need help sometimes in our lives. And some "normal" people need meds sometimes to help with things and some dont. Just take some advice from a professional as soon as you can.

Why, exactly, is marijuana said to be so bad by the government and so many other "responsible adults". I was really wondering about this the other day, so I did some research. From what I found, the information put out by organizations such as Above the Influence and The Anti Drug is way exaggerated and overblown. Most teens who smoke weed (including me) do it safely and lead normal lives. Contrary to what these organizations would have you belief, I am not stoned 24/7 alone in my basement with no friends. I am not failing out school, and I am a good athlete.

I noticed how these people talk about how bad weed is, but they never give any concrete evidence.

YOU CANNOT OVERDOSE ON MARIJUANA!!

There are very few (less than 100) deaths per year directly related to marijuana, and those are mostly people who decided to go driving while high. A new study has shown that even heavy cannabis smokers show no increased risk of lung cancer.

there are several reasons that marijuana is illegal:

1) the government makes too much busting dealers, growers and traffickers, to let it go.

2) it wasn't as popular at the time they found out prohibition of alcohol wasn't a feasible solution to public intoxication.

if you notice, there are many substances out there that people use recreationally, but it isn't illegal to possess until it gets popular. and that breaks down to statistics. if the drug isn't popular it will cost much more money to enforce the laws restricting them than will be brought in through busts.

3) only recently have they developed a test to show if you are driving under the influence of pot.

4) it isn't food, but it is a substance that can be sold to make large sums of money under-the-table. tax man doesn't like under-the-table.

5) Leaglizing MJ is the same as admitting defeat to the people who support and operate the "Drug Wars". Their egos make that, not an option.|||Because it robs brain cells from the people who can not afford to lose any more.|||Because the government would not be able to regulate and tax it, if it bacame legal.|||yeah, it's a joke. if you smoke everyday it does kill your drive, but i think mostly it's a reason to lock up americans, and keep the baby boomers in power. once there gone, im sure it will become legal, so hold tight buddy, our day will come.|||I saw on a show about it that it was made illegal sometime, I think, about 1930 as a way to get rid of illegal Mexicans because jobs were hard to find.

It seems much safer than alcohol and it is not a gateway drug for most people. The ones that do use stronger drugs are desensitized to breaking laws so it is probably only that it is illegal that it may contribute to other drugs being used.

Seriously, though. When you have a relative die at the age of 41 from lung cancer, who never smoked tobacco in his life, by the way… I'd say that's fairly concrete evidence that smoking pot DOES increase your risk of lung cancer. Oh, and no, cancer does not run in my family. *knocks on wood*

Just from personal experience, I see people do way more self-destructive and just plain stupid things while high than while drunk. If you look at the numbers as a PERCENTAGE instead of a TOTAL NUMBER, far more people injure themselves, get in accidents, and just do stupid things in general because they are high than because they are drunk.|||While you may be a teen who can handle it at your age, what you have to understand is that over the long haul it does make you less ambitious.

It affects different people differently just like anything, some people can hang with it, some people will get depressed, some people get sick, and for some people it becomes a force that dominates their life.

This is the way SPiderman 3 should have went in my eyes. Not only is this my version of Spiderman 3, but it's also my version of a true Punisher reboot. This movie would have been the first to ever feature the comic book character, The Punisher before he is in his own movies since he began as a SPiderman sub character. So here it is. The plot would be Peter is trying to think of a way to propose to MJ. While walking throuch Central park one night, a comit hits about 5 miles away. Peter goes to investegate. The symbiot sneeks into his backpack. Then he goes to see MJ's new play. After it is done, everyone apllaus with joy at her performance and him and MJ go back stage to plan a dinner. After that, on his way home in the alley, Peter gets ambushed by Harry in his Green Goblin costume. Underestimating SPiderman, Harry gets defeated and is badly injured. Peter goes home and sleeps and that when the symbiot merges into him. Next morning, police sirens go off and we cut to the next scene where 2 criminals are running through a house thats abandoned. It is revealed that they are running from a guy in a one peice black armored suit with a white skull on his chest and wearing white combat boots with white gloves(Punisher's classic suit). One guy bails out a window and the other gets caught up by Punisher. As P is about to extract private justice on the man, the floor breaks beneath the criminal and he falls to the first floor conveantly(spelling) in front of the cops. Peter goes into work and is introduced to a new employee. A big muscled bound man named Eddie Brock. As with Harry, he is now building a new amor suit and upgrading weapons while recovering from a broken leg. He wants vengence on SPiderman. However, he realizes he might not have to do the deed directly. With the military connections he has, he goes to an ex specail op who recommends him a number to a man named micro chip. Harry comes up with a plan to incriminate SPiderman to make it look legit. He sends info that SPiderman has been using his status of trust from the city to undergoe his own enterprise and take money from charities and banks. Micro chip sends all this information to The Punisher. Next night, police sirens go off and Peter chooses his new black outfit to go fight crime. Since this black outfit brings out the ungliness in him, he beats 3 criminals nearly to death. Acting out of character, he retreats to a side of a skyscrapper to look at the engagement ring that he wants to give to MJ. Thinking about what is happening to him, a gun shot goes off. A bullet misses his head by inches. Followed by an arsonall of gun fire, SPiderman leaps around for safety. He goes to a roof top, but not to his knowledge, triggers off a nearby anti personel mine. It explodes and the force knocks SPiderman on his back leaving him disoriented. He sees a figure appraoch him with a gun fixing on his head. He says, "who are you?!" SPiderman's senses go off allowing him to dodge an oncomming bullet and he sweaps the man on his back and flings a web at him. "Look buddy! I don't know what your game is but you need a time out!" Quickly, The Punisher shoots SPiderman with a dart coated with a lethal venom which because of SPiderman's body chemestry, only weakens him to a normal human strength which aloows the Punisher to undergo hand to hand combat with SPiderman in which he wipes the floor with the inexperienced kid. Then the venom wears off and at full strength, SPiderman punches the Punisher 15 feets away from him. The 2 not being able to out do eachother, part ways that night. In work, Peter and Eddie are trying to get a story from a man who knows the wearabouts of a psychopathic killer(not the punisher). Peter recommends that Eddie just take the story and shows him who to go to(not knowing the man he directs him to is just a blabbering idiot). After Eddie gets the story, Joan Jameson wants the story of a New York vigilanty covered and also finds out that the coverage Eddie comes up with is fake and has him fired. Eddie hating PEter for is direction will play a part in the 4th where it is Eddie's ark when he finds out A: he has cancer, B: his father disowns him, and C: he comes in contact with the symbiot. Spiderman hears a call comming in from the police that hostages have been taken and are on the bridge. Not only does SPiderman take the call, but not to his knowledge, so has the Punisher. Without knowing it, the 2 team up to save the inncocent and defeat the bad guys. However during all this, SPiderman sees how this man takes the law into his own hands. It croses his mind that this man fights crime by doing evil but why is he trying to kill SPiderman? After everyone is saved, Punisher fixes his attention on Spiderman in a scene where breath taking action takes place as the 2 fight for about 7 minutes. Spiderman towards the end, kicks the Punisher in the chest, knocking him out. He then picks up a pipe and is about to inpale this man with it. Then he steps back and drops the pipe knowing that all this bad energy has come from the symbiot. A church bell goes off and Peter sense that the suit is uncomfortable with it. In agony, he leave the unconcious assasin and goes home to think things through. LAter that night, Peter comes up with the idea of maybe that can be a way to get rid of the symbiot. He goes to church and hits the bell over and over unti the creature seperates itself from him. Then it faster than light, disappears into the darkness(cliffhaner scene for the 4th movie). After all is done, Peter goes to Aunt May. While all this is happening, after what MJ has seen on the new about this man trying to kill Spiderman, she spots him in an alley and follows him quietly to one of his hideouts. She then confronts him about as to why he is trying to murder the savior of the city. He tells her the information he has, and that it came directly from a man named Harry. MJ nearly collapses from finding that out. She runs to Peter to tell im everything. Now Peter must find a way to clear his name. (I'm open to suggestions on this part as to how he does that. I ofcoures cannot respond to you but after all, this is just for fun.) After that, the next time the 2 meet, Punisher tells him that he has been dooped into beleive SPiderman was a crminal and seems to be remorsefull about it at the same time wanting blood from Harry Osborne. Spiderman askes him again, who he is. The man responds, my name is Frank Castle. The 2 team up in order to find Harry who is not at home. Harry has completed his Hob Goblin suit and has captured Joan Jameson and Gwan Stacy(he does'nt catpure MJ because they are friends and does'nt want to put her in harms way. So he goes for other people Peter would want to help.) The climatic battler sequence between SPider/Punisher vs. Hobgoblin would be about 12 minutes of breath taking epic action leaving Harry wounded in the gut by a armor piercing bullet and SPiderman swing kicking him to the ground. As Harry lays there bleeding but survivable, Frank and Spiderman goes and rescue Jaon and Gwen who are hangin from a rope 100 feet above the ground. After they have them to safety, Frank goes over to the wounded Harry.

Harry: So you've come to finish me?

Frank: Somethin like that.

He fixes the gun to his head and then SPiderman steps infront to try to plead with Frank to spare his life.

Spiderman: Please! He needs help! He's my friend. Let me tak him in!

Frank: Why? So he can get put into the system as a crazy man and get out in 2? He is a menace and needs to be put down.

Spiderman: Please!!! LEt him go.

With the thoughts of SPiderman and how he almost killed him a few times, Frank breaks down a and thinks over his actions.

He looks down and his face changes from the signature snear to a very human Frank. He raises his head and looks at SPiderman.

Frank: I didn't want this. To become this. I did'nt have a choice.

Spiderman: We always have a choice. You have a choice when you commit evil to defeat evil.

Frank: I had a family once. We we having picnic at Central Park one afternoon to celebrate my homecomming from my tour in the Persian Gulf. Then a gangland shooting happened. The Gambino brothers shot an informant. Not wanting to leave any witnesses behind, they shot me and my family. My wife Maria. My children Janice and Frank Jr. I woke up in the hospital after being in a coma for 3 weeks. They told me my wife dies on the scene and my kids died hours after. The police had the 2 in custody and wre waiting for me to regain me strenght so I could testify. When the time came, I took the stand and afterwards, the judge let them off on a technecality. The men that took my family away from me were going to walk free. Something inside of me changed. I realized the law can't always protect the innocent. So I took it into my own hands and later that night, I killed tha Gambino brothers and have waged a war on crime. A war I know I wont win. But a war I will fight till the day I die. The climatic battler sequence between SPider/Punisher vs. Hobgoblin would be about 12 minutes of breath taking epic action leaving Harry wounded in the gut by a armor piercing bullet and SPiderman swing kicking him to the ground. As Harry lays there bleeding but survivable, Frank and Spiderman goes and rescue Jaon and Gwen who are hangin from a rope 100 feet above the ground. After they have them to safety, Frank goes over to the wounded Harry.

Harry: So you've come to finish me?

He fixes the gun to his head and then SPiderman steps infront to try to plead with Frank to spare his life.

Hi all!! I have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck, directly below my jawline. It has been swollen for going on 9 months now. It is not painful and it has not gotten any bigger but also has not gotten smaller. I am not sick, although i did have an upper respiratory infection when it was first noticed 9 months ago.

I have been to the doctors many times. I have been on 2 rounds of ZIthromax and Doxicycline. Still no change. I have seen TWO ENT Doctors and they both have told me that it is "clinically insignificant" and nothing to worry about. The last ENT even said it was too small to biopsy and that most people would not even notice it!!

Call me crazy, call me insane, but i am still terrified of the possibilty of cancer.

I do have night sweats and itching, but i have had those symptoms for almost 5 yrs since being on anti-deppressants.

No weight loss…actually weight gain.

I am female and 28 yrs old.

Any suggestions??|||This is a shot in the dark but do you go in a hot tub regularly or every month or so? This causes my lymph nodes to swell. I use to go every week and I noticed my lymph nodes were constantly swollen, when I stopped the swelling stopped. Just a thought. If you think it is cancer then have them do a blood test, they can usually tell from your white blood count.|||listen to your doctors … you are worrying too much it might just have stayed at a low swollen stage from the resp inection and heck you have had night sweats for the past five years…. just RELAX… why do nt you start a super healthy eating diet and exercise program to seeif that makes you feel even better?

That Bush finds it necessary at this juncture to continue to cater to the whims of the extremist Christian Right speaks volumes as to the disproportionate amount of influence that religious fringe holds over American policy.

Radical clerics like Falwell and Dobson and their ilk are deferred to and treated as king makers for any potential political candidate willing to pucker up to kiss Dobson and Falwell’s rings and derierres.

The extremist elements of the Christian Right need to be stigmatized and isolated as the cancer on free society that they truly are and not embraced by charlatan politicians pandering for votes.

Take a moment to recall that the Nazi party was small and close to ignored early on while the "Constitution Party" is the third largest party in the U.S.

Note that the recently declared Republican Presidental candidate, ex Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has called for taking America for Christ.

I too was going through something simaliar to your prediciment. I took an alternative path and saw an Iridologist. They were able to tell me exactly what was going on with my body, just by looking at my eyes. And, the problem I was suffering from is now gone after taking the herbal supplements they recommended.

I would suggest the Iridologist I saw, to you. I personally know him, and he does an outstanding job. He doesn't charge anything for Iridology via email if you would be interested.

My nose and sinuses are clear and there is no nose discharge. My chest is also clear and I have no cough condition either. At night towards morning I feel a dry and sore throat which goes away as the day advances.

Any time I can expectorate small quantities of sticky and slightly yellow phlegm from the base of the throat and wind pipe.

Occasionally I get muscle pains as if I am due for a viral infection. I have no fever.

So far my GP prescribed and I have taken anti biotic Doxycycline and Roxithromycin, Prednisone, Beclomethason and last Omerprazole without any reduction of the symptoms.

I wonder if this can be due to a cancer condition in my throat.|||Well, your symptoms certainly don't suggest cancer, but I'm kind of wondering why you're on Predisone for a sore throat. It sounds like you have some kind of bacterial pharyngitis or mild bronchitis (the purulent exudate you desribe is consistent) that hasn't cleared up yet — though it might not while you continue taking corticosteroids. You might need to switch antibiotics if the bacteria is resistant to what you're currently taking.|||it can very well be a food allergy, one of the ones that causes phlegm like that is milk. see if not having any milk or cheese products helps for a week. good luck, oh and you may need a humidifyer in your room. just the cool mist ones from the drug store will help and they arent horridly expensive.|||It might be a side effect of one of the drugs you are taking. Check out the side effects. I have medications that have caused all sorts of issues. If it's not an infection, I doubt if it's cancer. Your GP would have already detected that. Do you smoke? Try drinking more water, and if you do smoke, stop.

5 year old yellow lab was fine until two weeks ago. Had discharge from eyes, and took the dog to the vet. Found that left eye was cloudy. Vet thought probably uvitis. Vet put dog on drops and anti-inflammatory. Discharge stopped. Eye still cloudy, and dog cannot see out of left eye. Put dog on strong antibiotics (Primor, 450mg 2x day). Eye no longer cloudy, but cannot see out of eye. Eye seems to be brown throughout.

Vet now thinks blastomycosis. But the following symptoms were never present: fever, weight loss, edepression, looss of appetite, lesions, resperatory problems, lameness (no testicals, na) seizures, courghing or lymph node issues (per MD).

What next? What are possibilities. Vet says remove the eye and send it out for testing. Says that Blastomycosis is most probable, but that cancer and benign tumor are possible.

Dog goes to forested park with running water every weekend, and loves to swim. Location: Southeast Wisconsin.

Any ideas?|||I was thinking ocular Blasto before I even finished your first paragraph, actually. His history of running around in the woods makes it all the more suspicious….but the eye is usually not 'brown' throughout. ??

Blastomycosis can be limited to the eye….it doesn't always have to be systemic. So, the absence of other signs doesn't rule it out.

The treatment for ocular Blasto involves very strong cortisone eye drops…which many DVMs are reluctant to use, because of the fear of making any type of infection worse. It's necessary to do it in order to save the eye and sight in the case of Blasto, however. But at 2 weeks' duration, it's probably too late. :-/

Depending upon which strength of antiinflammatory drogs your DVM used, that might have already been what he/she tried.

I'm in a different part of the country, so there might be other things up there to consider. Your DVM would be the best person to know about that. I practice in an area that has Blasto, so that's why it immediately came to mind with your initial description.

If the eye is indeed nonvisual (something that could be confirmed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist), I would agree that taking it out would be indicated. And if it's removed, you'd of course want to send it off for pathology. Tumor is certainly a very real possibility, also….and the pathologist would be able to tell you for sure.

Either way, removing the eye just might save his life. If you're not ready to do that, schedule an appt. ASAP (like yesterday) with an ophthalmologist for a second opinion. They might be able to do an ocular aspirate for cytology to look for the Blasto organism and/or tumor cells. Time is crucial if it is either Blasto OR a tumor….and odds are that it's one or the other. I wouldn't wait around on Blasto blood titers if I were you.

Sorry….wish I could be more encouraging. It's hard to say without actually seeing the eye, but it doesn't sound good. I hope I'm wrong and everything works out okay, though. It sounds to me like you're in good hands.

ETA: From the information given, it sounds like this veterinarian handled the case perfectly appropriately…..not like he has 'no idea what's going on.' And NO veterinarian is going to sacrifice any animal's eyesight just to 'make more money.' Sheesh!|||Same with people, get a second opinion. Sounds like your vet has no idea what's going on and is just doing procedure after procedure to get more money.

Edit: Oh, and to Ms. Vet, with all do respect, no doctor is going to take a gallbladder out of a human being for no real reason just to make money. Oh wait, yes they do. I have worked for a surgical clinic and they took them out on a regular basis when they probably shouldn't be taken out. Gallbladder surgery is goooood money for a doctor. People think they can live normally without a gallbladder. The doctors give them no indication otherwise that it will effect their life in any way, but most people I know that have had this operation live in fear of going places because they're afraid they'll POOP on themselves because of bile. Sometimes they can simply clean out the bile ducts and it will eliminate the problem, but instead, they take out a vital organ!

Also, I took my parakeet to the vet to have his toenails clipped, and the whole time he had a very large tumor growing on his backside. The vet didn't even say anything about it! He died not long after that.

Then, my mom and sister were at a vet's office and this woman had brought in her cat. She had taken it somewhere else, and they didn't know what they were doing and they took out a kidney. Turns out, it could have been treated without operation with antibiotics or something and would have pulled through, but since they removed the kidney, I think she was having to have it put down.

So yes, you can say all you want to about no vet in this country or whatever is going to remove a dog's eye for money. Also, I think the advice to seek a second opinion is good advice. What if another place could save the eye? He just seems to be using trial and error. This is an animal we're talking about, not a puzzle. You don't just do something to see if it works then try something else. Especially when you're dealing with something like that. You vets should have gone to school enough to know what it is without having to keep trying things.

So yeah, I don't know what a vet's "code of ethics" are compared to a human doctor, but I'm sure there are vets out there who are just in it for the money. They may have more input since they specialize in that area only. Most specialists require referrals from vets though so you might have to ok through your vet first.
