My father is on R-Chop and about to get his 4 cycle. After last cycle his WBC count was close to zero and he was admitted to the hospital. Is this normal and what can we can to keep it little hig next time plus he is receiving long lasting shot to boost his WBC count. Please advise. We don%26#039;t want to change the chemo because it is responding to Lymphoma.|||There are many things you can do but make sure the doctor okays these things before starting. A lot of white blood counts is actually based upon feelings.

Exercise boosts the counts

Being optimistic boosts the counts

Starting a supplement called %26quot;glutamine%26quot; (Google it first, it sometimes boosts growth of cancer)

5 months ago I developed a hard lump underneath my jaw, which hurt when I ate. I went for blood tests and the doctor said that I was on the tail end of Glandular Fever. 5 months later and I am still sick. My symptoms:

* DOESN%26quot;T hurt to eat

* Lump get bigger when I eat

* Suddenly feel tired and exhausted

* Get pains in Stomach

* Headaches

* Feel sick

Is it possible that I have Lymphoma even if it didn%26#039;t pick up in the original blood tests. I have been back to the doctor and he has ordered more blood tests but I dont get the results for a week.

Is Lymphoma even picked up in blood tests?

I had headaches and felt lethergic, i lost weight and couldnt put any on.

It can be a very dangerous illness too.|||If it gets bigger when you eat, that would be suspicious for a diverticulum of some sort. You may need an ENT consult. If it%26#039;s a lymph node, you%26#039;ll need a node biopsy anyway.|||I am a lymphoma patient Grade1, stage 4 and yes they can test the blood, but it depends on what kind of lymphoma it is. if it shows up in the blood. Mine has never showed up in a blood test . BUT that doesn%26#039;t mean you have it, there is many other thing that can cause your swelling. Get a second opinion to be on the safe side and ask to have a biopsy done, that would tell you, that is how they found mine all test came back inconclusive until they did the biopsy|||free info about cancer.

There are stages with all types of cancer, so symptoms are generally dependent on the stage of the cancer. Early stages rarely have any symptoms.

You may wish to join an online mailing group with people who have the same cancer. They can guide you towards treatment options and just be there for support. You do not mention which type of lymphoma you have - Non-Hodgkins or Hodgkins so I will give you both addresses:

We don%26#039;t want to change the chemo because it is responding to Lymphoma.|||This is unfortunate but common. His long-acting shot is presumably Neulasta, which does help the WBCs recover faster, though they can still drop just as low. The risk for infection is related to the duration of low white count and how low it actually goes.

If a patient is already on growth factor shots and still gets a neutropenic (low white count) fever requiring hospitalization/antibiotics, the usual maneuver is to dose reduce the CHO (not the P and R) by 20-25%. This still provides effective doses, and reduces the risks of infection complications. An alternative is to provide continuous coverage of antibiotics during the course of therapy, keeping the chemo dose the same. I generally don%26#039;t favor this, but your doctor might for various reasons (meaning I have done it, but it is not my pattern).

God bless, best wishes

My father is suffering from low grade transformed lymphoma. After 2 treatments of R-chop pet scan came clear. His WBC count is really low and he is in the hospital. Dr is talking about reducing the chemo doze by 25%, It is responding so well so why reduce it? Please advice.|||I hope all turns out well.

Try Neulasta to keep cell counts up while on chemo.

Check this site for info:

Best wishes|||has the doctor tried the neulasta (sp?) shot to help your dads white blood cell count rebuild..it is a shot you get the day after each chemo

if he has done this and the count is still low enough to pput ur dad in the hospital they are going to reduce it because your dad needs his white blood cellls to survive the treatments and the chemo is doing too much damage to them|||at the dose he is getting now- his white count drops so low he has to be hospitalized- if he were to get an infection it would not be good because he does not have the protection of white blood cells- by reducing the dose he is trying to make sure that he survives the treatment.|||Your body can only handle so much chemo. R CHOP has a few drugs, like vincristine, that are very, very toxic. They have lifetime limits. If the cancer is clear, like you said, it would be pointless to give max doseage, especially if your father is neutropenic. They still want to give some more, to make sure its gone. Unfortunately, most lymphomas are not cureable. They are looking long term and do not want to run out of chemop options.

Has he discussed a Stem Cell/bone marrow transplant with his doctor? It may be something to bring up, especially since he is already getting chemo and his disease load sounds like its relatively low. Now would be the time to go for a transplant. Only your doctor can advise for sure, but a transplant is the only hope for long term remission. When you have a chronic cancer, like lymphoma, you want to buy time.

Chemo eventually stops working.

Good Luck.

Lymphomas may spread from one site to other parts of the body. Lymphocytic leukemias originate and are most prominent in the marrow and spill over into the blood. They occasionally spread to involve the lymph nodes.

Is it possible for someone to have lymphoma if they%26#039;ve had a bloodtest come back with no abnormalties, but have had swollen lymph nodes that haven%26#039;t gone away in a year?|||Any night sweats? [huge soak-the-sheets type], weight loss?

Yes, Lymphoma is a possibility. Itching is a symptom. But, there are MANY things that can make lymph nodes swell. A biopsy is the most definitive way to tell what%26#039;s going on. If it is something bad, please don%26#039;t worry, there are great treatments out there. Stick with your doctors and stay on top of things until you get a definite answer.

Everyone needs to realize that you can cure your body naturally. I%26#039;m telling everyone this because for my family it was too late. I made it My goal this year is help as may people out as much as I can. I%26#039;m going to you something that I feel is going to more then help but even help prevent cancer and diseases. The doctor did not tell my cousin not to give the baby such things sugar. Suger FEEDS cancer cells. He died of leukemia three years ago. His name was Joshua Johnson. The hospital was Nassau County Medical Center. They was trying to help him the best way they knew how to but due to the treatments they gave him it killed off all the good and bad white blood cells. I Don%26#039;t want people to go thru what we did.

Why should mothers, fathers, grandparents, and friends have to go thru this kind of pain and hunt. some people would say something%26#039;s are inevitable. Me helping others I will do so.

Please try this web site you have nothing to lose by give your friends and family a chance to have good health. If anyone do try this PLEASE email me in 6 months or 3 and tell me how is worked for you or your family. Everything in this product is NATURAL and essential to the body. %26quot;If it don%26#039;t taste good then its good for you%26quot; Please help spread the word and save a life. I hope I saved yours.

One last thing Check your PH balance 1st at the doctor. That way you can see if you now alkaline.

I%26#039;m going to leave you with something off the page.

Cesium is one of the most alkaline elements. Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize for showing that cancer thrives in anaerobic (without oxygen), or acidic, conditions. research by Keith Brewer, PhD and H.E. Satori has shown that raising the pH, or oxygen content, range of a cell to pH 8.0 creates a deadly environment for cancer. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with numbers below 7 representing an acidic condition and above 7 representing an alkaline, or oxygenated, condition. When cesium is taken up by cancer cells, it raises the pH, or oxygen content, of the cell. The cells that die are absorbed and eliminated by the body.

I cant say it cures but I know my grandmother is still alive and she is 86 years old. MOst people don%26#039;t see 60 without a long term diseases
