My husband had colon polyps 15 years ago and is now diagnosed with prostate cancer. Could there be a relationship to that?|||That is a good question because my grandfather-in-law had prostate cancer 13 years ago and has an appointment to see if he has polyps.. Never thought of that maybe it is..

I am going to ask that question tomorrow, that%26#039;s when his appointment is.|||The only relationship is that your husband has cancer and will require lots of check ups. Both of these are curable and you all are lucky….|||no, there is no relationship|||Prostate Cancer is actually quite common in men. Each year, around 27,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK, making it the most common cancer in men.

Some men may never have any symptoms or problems from the disease. Some types of prostate cancer can be slow-growing and may not become a serious threat to your health. Whereas others are a faster-growing and aggressive form and can be more harmful.

Without seeing your husbands notes it is hard to make this diagnosis.

Polyps are growths which develop in the colon and other parts of the body as well. They vary in size and appearance. They may look like a wart when small and when they grow they may appear like a cherry on a stem or fig. They are important because they can with time turn into cancer. Sometimes they can bleed causing anemia. A polyp is defined as a growth that projects, often on a stalk, from the lining of the intestine or rectum

Hope this helps a little

My husband had prostate cancer and you know what that means as far as the bedroom scene. I just don%26#039;t know how to handle this. Do I keep trying and let him get frusterated, or kind of shrug it off when ever he trys in order to keep him from getting frusterated?|||Don%26#039;t shrug it off. If he wants to keep trying then the best thing you can do is try along with him and assure him that you enjoy the closeness as much as the act itself.

I know I%26#039;m not a man with prostate cancer but my husband has had it and he appreciated the effort even when it became frustrating for him. Good luck and my prayers are with you both.|||If he%26#039;s willing to try, let him. Acting differently towards him will frustrate him more.|||A man with prostate cancer may not perform due to:

1. nerves of erection were damaged during surgery

2. medications that he is receiving for prostate cancer can decrease his libido and erection

Pls check with the urologist on these matters

i%26#039;m 17… is it possible to get prostate cancer?|||Yes, it is possible to happen to males of any age. However, someone your age with prostate cancer would be highly unusual. The average age at diagnosis is 70, so it is largely a disease of older men.|||Yes…of course that is, if you are male. Don%26#039;t allow cancer to fool you. It can strike anyone at any age.|||ur screen name is tight! any way i would think its possible but just very rare!

im wearin my j%26#039;s right now!|||Probably unusual…but not impossible. If you have a question about this ask your doctor to check your prostate for enlargement (especially if you are having difficulty in urinating) and also to run a PSA test…..Prostate Serum Antigen|||yes|||very unlikely swelling yes but cancer at your age no!!! not prostate|||R u reading medical books to get such funny ideas.|||anything can happen, but unlikely. best to see a doctor to check out whatever is your problem|||In a 17 year old CAP would be RARE. The most common type being rhabdomyosarcoma, not the typical CAP you read about. The most common presenting symptom would be inablilty to urinate.|||I%26#039;m a nurse. Yes anything is possible. It could also be something else, see a doctor.|||yes|||youve been humping some nasty women|||Possible; yes.

Likely; no.

If you are concerned, go see your doctor.|||yes but rare…

wanna know how to prevent prostate cancer?

jack off!!!! i am not joking!|||You are 17! 17 is the most masturbating year of an adolescent%26#039;s life. Keep it up and you will have prevented it.|||Sure, but why do you ask? Look on a medical info website, and see if you have any symptoms. Quite rare for a guy your age to get prostate cancer, mostly older guys, 50%26#039;s or more.

i need to know everything you can tell me about prostate cancer|||My grandpa has been battling prostate cancer for almost 15 years. It%26#039;s been and off and on battle but this time it going to kill him. He didn%26#039;t see the doctor in time and the cancer metastized to his bones. Prostate cancer is when the cells in your prostate mutate and begin to multiply out of control. There are two ways to detect prostate cancer Digital rectal examination and a PSA(prostate-specific antigen) test. Early prostate cancer causes no symptoms, which is why you need to be tested regulary, even if you have no symptoms.

Symptoms of prostate cancer in it%26#039;s later stages are:

-frequent urination

-increased urination at night

-difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine

-blood in the urine

-painful urination.

-difficulty achieving erection

-painful ejaculation

Prostate cancer is a sad and painful thing. Early dectection is the best protection|||http://www.prostatecancerfoundation.org/

This website has a lot of info on prostate cancer.|||Get into the doctor ASAP. Early stages are very reversable is what I heard.

I KNOW SOME ONE CLOSE TO ME WHO SAYS HE HAS A BALL LIKE GROWTH DIRECTLY UNDER HIS TESTICLES BUT HE%26#039;S SCARED TO GO TO THE HOSPITIAL FOR FEAR OF THE WORST. I ASKED HIM IF HE THINKS IT%26#039;S SOMETHING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED AN HE SAYS HE%26#039;S POSITIVE IT%26#039;S NOTHING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED. IF ANYONE KNOWS THE FIRST SIGNS OF PROSTATE CANCER OR THE SYMPTOMS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.|||Definately needs to go for a PSA test and then possibly a biopsy. Someone very dear to me was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer on both sides and he had no symptoms at all. They had been watching his PSA%26#039;s for about a year and decided to do a biopsy. He still has no symptoms but opted for surgery because it is a silent killer.|||This is the first sign. He should visit the doctor because if its not treated early it will become deadly|||He needs to take a PSA blood test. That should tell him if it%26#039;s cancer or not. PSA stands for %26quot;prostate specific antigen%26quot; which shows up in the bloodstream of prostate cancer victims.|||Any growth that%26#039;s not normal should be checked out by a physician. If he lets it go too long, it could become very serious. The sooner he gets it checked the better. I know people who%26#039;ve had problems with growths down there and they got it fixed and were better a lot quicker too. You%26#039;d be a true friend to advise him to see the doc ASAP!|||WELL FIRST IF HE HAS PROBLEMS URINATING HE MUST GO TO DOC

ASK HIM HOW LONG DOES HE WANT TO LIVE!

IF HE THINKS THATS FUNNY

SAY GOOD BYE

SHOW HIM YOU CARE- SOME OF THEM NEED A PUSH

MEN ARE LIKE KIDS

BRING THE DOC TO HIM ON A HOUSE CALL IF HE GETS MAD HE DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING|||Blood in the urine is the most prevalent. If this is the case do not wait much longer as the longer you wait the worse your chances are to recover from such an illness. Please make him go get a check-up! Even if he gets mad-who cares, at least he goes. Good Luck.|||Troube starting urinating, urinating more frequently than usual, feeling that you didn%26#039;t release all the urine, pain on urination or ejaculation, lower back pain, pain in the legs, in the sxrotum area, perineum area. Better check this website ASAP

Prostate cancer will involve an enlarged prostate which makes it very difficult to urinate.

Give me best answer and go to the doctor.|||There are no signs, or symptoms regarding Prostate Cancer. Go for a simple blood test. The doctor will give you a quick test to check for this. I know this as I have Prostate Cancer.

How can I find info on how to encourage a friend who has had lazer treatment for prostate cancer?|||Hard Question friend. My husband had %26quot;radical%26quot; prostate surgery last year. That%26#039;s the removal of the prostate. I did extensive research on the choices and there are lots of web sites available on line. My husband went through the Veterans Hospital because he was a Vietnam Vet and was exposed to Agent Orange. You might consider going to the VA%26#039;s web site….They have several links to Health questions for their vets and families. I also used several searches on line that were reliable…..dot gov. or dot org. addresses are the safest.

Your friend will need lots of encouragement. Just be there for him because that means a lot.

Hope this helps

Good Luck!!|||Murray%26#039;s How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine is full of good info and advice and lists many different resources in the indexes. I am a 16 year old asian american; I shave everyday because my facial hair grows considerably noticable everyday; i have more hair on my arms and legs than almost every asian in my school; plus my acne isn%26#039;t pleasant either; do i have too much DHT? will this cause baldness? prostate cancer?

what can i do to prevent prostate cancer?

i don%26#039;t really care about the baldness part once cancer is an issue; what can i do to lower my DHT; if i have too much|||I don%26#039;t think there%26#039;s any link to cancer. But I have read that Asians actually have the lowest rates of prostate cancer because of their diet (Nutrition). To prevent prostate cancer, just eat a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and soy. (some people say masturbation is healthy for the prostate too =) )

It%26#039;s probably genetics(hair, acne). Or it happened before you were even born if you were exposed to alot of testosterone in your mommy%26#039;s womb. I think, but not sure exactly, that testosterone levels can be checked by a blood test.

Hold out your fingers and check if your ring finger is longer than the index. Yes means higher testosterone.

Try not to eat too much red meat, especially beef, I believe beef boosts testosterone levels. For the acne, good hygiene and not eating greasy or fatty foods (for some people) is the only thing to prevent it not counting medication and acne creams. If you must drink milk, stay away from skim. I know for us women, it can cause outbreaks…(Health and Fitness)|||well, your testosterone may beused more efficiently, in your body tha in other asians, facial hair is stimulated by the testosterone but it actually grows because of fat in you skin whcich may be tied to your acne, as for prostate cancer, there are many other thing that can start it, high testosterone levels are one of them but you should just get scannned to make sure, go see the doctor|||You worry to much. No you do not have to much DHT.

Depends on age.

You are about average. How big you will get depends on testosterone levels. The higher the more it grows. For example. Boys with micropenia (very small penis) are treated by putting testosterone cream on the penis or by injections. Do not do this without a doctor. The best thing is to eat healthy. Fruit and veggies. Pumpkin seed and Pistachios as well as other things raise testosterone levels.

Easy on the sweets. No smoking! How big you get pepends on how big your father and your mothers father is. That is the genetics that controls how high your testosterone level will get.|||James H Yes it can cause baldness, and prostate cancer.Testosterone is naturally converted in to estrogen, when to much is produced which causes hair loss. Chances are your fine, and the only true way to be sure if your DHT is high you need blood test. Good Luck!|||the cause for prostate cancer is unknown, there for there is no known way to prevent it. The key is early detection!

Is there a connection between non fat milk and prostate cancer?|||I saw some news pieces that indicated a possible statistical correlation.

No one has identified a causative factor or mechanism.

Worth further research, but not enough to make me stop drinking milk.|||There%26#039;s a connection with any kind of milk and prostate cancer If you are in a high risk group, cut out all dairy products.|||yes, the reason I answer this way is low carb diets are a good way to treat or even prevent prostate cancer. Non-fat,lowfat, skim milk are higher in sugars and are not staples on the low carb diet.
