My brother has prostate problems. He is seeing a specialist and has had a heap of tests done. The doctor told him it wasnt cancer and there is only a teeny weeny enlargement. It started a couple of years ago when he chopped off the tip of one of his fingers. He has pain in his groin, back of his legs, hamstring, his butt cheeks and finds it really hard to get around. His urinating is normal - its not stopping and starting and the stream is not too bad. More or less normal is what he told me. One day he was laying down and he had to go to do a pee but pain was building. He rolled off the bed and walked hunched over to the toilet and when he finished, the pain had gone. He has been going to the doctor for over a yr and no definite diagnosis…any ideas?|||Chronic unresolved prostatitis is an ongoing, disabling condition that is common in men of all ages and ethnic origins. The primary symptom is pelvic pain and/or the need to urinate often—symptoms very similar to those of interstitial cystitis (IC).

Chronic unresolved prostatitis is also like IC in that healthcare professionals often can%26#039;t find an infection or pathology that is causing the pain and the need to urinate often. Patients may be diagnosed with chronic pelvic pain and chronic unresolved prostatitis.

Healthcare professionals have noticed the similarities between the symptoms of chronic unresolved prostatitis and IC.

Chronic unresolved prostatitis and interstitial cystitis share many characteristics. They can cause similar symptoms. They are both hard to diagnose, partly because they affect different people in different ways.

If you have been diagnosed with chronic unresolved prostatitis and are not getting relief from your symptoms even though you and your doctor have tried different treatments, you should probably ask your healthcare professional to investigate whether your pain and need to urinate often may be IC. To obtain an accurate diagnosis, you may need to request a referral to a specialist such as a urologist.|||I%26#039;d get a second opinion. Something is obviously wrong. That said, it could also be a referred pain. He could have a kidney infection. It really could be anything. Sorry I don%26#039;t have something more concrete here…I%26#039;m just kind of baffled.

It really depends on several factors, including:

age

general health condition

PSA levels

PSA velocity (amount PSA has gone up recently)

free PSA

How well hormone treatments will work

Very difficult to tell with limited information. I would suggest you research this some more.|||Hormonal therapy is not intended to be curative. It can delay the progression of prostate cancer for two to ten years or possibly more. It is an individual thing.New treatments are being developed all the time.

I was diagnosed in 1999 and had the gland removed though it was too late for that to be curative. Today, I keep the cancer at bay through a product called Prostasol. About two years ago, my PSA was 15. Two months after starting Prostasol, it declined to 0.3 and has stayed in that range since.

I had a three-month experience with Lupron and did not like it primarily because of the heat flushes it produced at about 20 per day. The product I take now is much easier to live with and seemingly just as effective.

Good luck with whichever treatment you choose. Being diagnosed with cancer is scary but in the case of prostate cancer, it does not mean you will pass away in short order. It has been eight years for me and I still do pretty much everything that I want to do today.

It would depend on if the prostate itself is swollen and choking off the urethra (which is one of the same symptoms of benign prostate hypertrophy AKA BPH). Frequent urination or the sensation of needing to go but can%26#039;t is quite common. In both cases, the person needs to see a urologist. He most likely will conduct a PSA test, the normal range for that test is 0-4. A digital exam will also help determine if there is any hardening of the prostate indicating a tumor. There is much more involved, however, if you are 50 or over, you should get a PSA test done once a year. My husband was fine last year then this year he had stage 3 prostate cancer that was discovered with the yearly test.

I wish you the best!|||Frequent worries of cancer|||Yea, the main one is being able to pee freely. Like you should be able to pee over a hedge [like 3-foot high and one 1-wide] and if you can then all%26#039;s pretty much fine.|||yes. Frequent urination is the most common symptom.|||Not until it is well advanced. Usually there is difficulty in urinating. The finger test determines swelling which most men after 50 have some degree of. The PSA test can confirm the condition. This cancer is slow to grow so don%26#039;t jump at surgery. The radioactive seeds are nothing new. They were tried back in the 20%26#039;s and 30%26#039;s and were determined to be of no value. Chromium defficiency is a major cause of prostate cancer. Other minerals are important as well. High gause north pole magnets facing the prostate can greatly aid in bringing in oxygen and driving out hydrogen which, when present, produces the inflammation. Some people with the disease can feel the pull of the magnet. Obtain a ceramic block magnet at 1200 gauss or greater. Take the herb Saw Palmetto regularly. If you have cancer look up %26#039;Prostasol%26#039; and %26#039;Prosta-Plex,%26#039; they are VERY effective. Surgery is an absolute nightmare - avoid it at all costs if you can. The after effects often turn men into unichs.|||Unfortunately, when You have symptoms, That%26#039;s when the disease has reached it%26#039;s limit.

He didn%26#039;t live long enough to get prostate cancer. He most likely had head lice and fleas, since those parasites were pretty common. I don%26#039;t know that he drank to indulgence, so hangovers don%26#039;t seem likely. And it%26#039;s hard to live 33 years without ever getting the flu, so that%26#039;s a big yes.|||If you dont know why do you think we do. So I don%26#039;t know. But I will venture 1, 3 are quite likely, maybe 4 and who knows about 2.|||Jesus never had cancer, he never had a hangover as Jesus never got drunk, Jesus never had had lice but maybe the flu.|||Atheletes Foot from water walking.|||Everything except the prostate cancer is a fair likelihood.

He died too young to be in the target age range for prostate cancer.

I expect he got sunburnt, too, what with his fair skin (I%26#039;ve seen the pictures American churches put on the internet).|||his daddy needed his blood to enable him to forgive….Jesus had bigger problems than head lice!|||I think he felt hungover,as it must have been hell just hanging around doing nothing all day,at least he got to look down on

people !! The rich the poor and the romans,i bet he checked them out for headlice !!!|||Heck no! Would God contract jock itch? Why would you ask such a silly question?

Actually, I was there at the time and I tried to give Jesus halitosis, gas, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, hangnails, athlete%26#039;s foot, dandruff, an upset stomach, acid reflux, diaper rash, excema, seboria, psoriasis, morning sickness, cramps, PMS, you name it. Not even body odor would stick to this guy! And I%26#039;m darned ticked off about it too. Thanks for reminding me of my failure, Dude! Hope to see you later on.

Yours truly,

Satan|||The bible quite obviously isnt an account of Jesus%26#039; whole life 24/7 so apart from that it%26#039;s just assumed that he was just like any other human living at that time in that location.

We dont have any other record of Jesus apart from the bible but then detailed historical accounts of many many many people from over 2000 years ago are fairly rare.|||No-The Bible does not say so. Jesus was a physically tough and big built person otherwise he would not have been overturn the tables or money boxes when he kicked people out of the temple.

Also, the people who wanted to kill Him had to use military power to capture Him.

Also, Jesus was asmart person otherwise soilders who were well off would not have caste lots for his clothing below the cross. Most probably he wore designer clothes of the time.

Imagine expensive perfume being poured on His feet-no a small bottleful but an entire jar full and even rich and powerful people commented on it-he must have been the in guy of the time.

Do you think a person whose spirit who even heals people will today will get diseases.

You are probably trying to size the person of jesus down to level with him but its not possible-look at world opinion.

I trust you alreacy agree with me since you are such a nice guy. take care and be blessed.|||nope, but if u wanna talk about human flaws existing in Jesus, he has bled, died %26amp; questioned God before (he asked %26quot;God, why have u forsaken me?%26quot;).

also, according to certain alternative bible passages that were written at the same time as the old testament but were never published, Jesus used to be a vindicative child who beat another kid to death for accidentally bumping into him, %26amp; had pre marital sex with mary magdolin in his 30s|||No he didn´t. He never existed.

Brandon A is right and wrong. Testosterone does NOT build up in the prostate, but it can promote cancer. However, studies have shown that ejaculations will decrease the risks associated with prostate cancer. The prostate is a gland, and it needs to be kept healthy and ACTIVE. There are also supplements that can be taken such as: saw palmetto, shark cartilage, and others; check with your herbal dealer.|||yes it can. ejactulation releases testosterone that would only build up in the prostate. too much testosterone in your prostates causes prostate cancer|||Frequent emptying of the prostrate has shown to reduce the chance of prostrate cancer, either by sex, masturbation or prostrate massage (look it up).|||then i gues u both shud start workin|||it could…but its a good way of getting you to have sex with him more lol|||Frequent sexual intercourse and masturbation protects men against a common form of cancer, suggests the largest study of the issue to date yet.

The US study, which followed nearly 30,000 men over eight years, showed that those that ejaculated most frequently were significantly less likely to get prostate cancer|||it is true in some regard. the issue is and completely depends on the condition of the prostate right now. does he currently have prostate cancer, yes or no. if no, it should help. if yes, it may or may not help. once the prostate has cancer, increased testosterone levels will increase the growth of cancer. this is a big debate, if you don%26#039;t have cancer in your prostate, it may be truye that higher levels of testosterone may prevent prostate cancer. men generally don%26#039;t get prostate cancer until they are older, when testosterone levels start to naturally drop.

Depends on the chemotherapy regimen and luck, so possibly is the answer. Also important, Sloan-Kettering would be a cutting edge facility with the newest treatments that would make success more likely.

I had a friend who had stage four prostate cancer that had spread and they had given up hope. He went to a large teaching hospital and they put him on a chemotherapy regimen of Taxol, which at the time was only used to treat breast cancer. He made a fantastic recovery, gained his weight back and then went back to work full time driving a log truck. He wasn%26#039;t cured but his quality of life was excellent. This was about 8-9 years ago and last I heard he was still working and doing ok. good luck|||You may want to check this out–

There are more and more reports by establishment oncologists doubting the value of chemotherapy, even to the point of rejecting it outright. One of these, cancer biostatistician Dr. Ulrich Abel, of Heidelberg, Germany, issued a monograph titled Chemotherapy of Advanced Epithelial Cancer in 1990. Epithelial cancers comprise the most common forms of adenocarcinoma: lung, breast, prostate, colon, etc. After ten years as a statistician in clinical oncology, Abel became increasingly uneasy. %26quot;A sober and unprejudiced analysis of the literature,%26quot; he wrote, %26quot;has rarely revealed any therapeutic success by the regimens in question in treating advanced epithelial cancer.%26quot; While chemotherapy is being used more and more extensively, more than a million people die worldwide of these cancers annually - and a majority have received some form of chemotherapy before dying. Abel further concluded, after polling hundreds of cancer doctors, %26quot;The personal view of many oncologists seems to be in striking contrast to communications intended for the public.%26quot; Abel cited studies that have shown %26quot;that many oncologists would not take chemotherapy themselves if they had cancer.%26quot; (The Cancer Chronicles, December, 1990.)

%26quot;Even though toxic drugs often do effect a response, such as a partial or complete shrinkage of the tumor, this reduction does not prolong expected survival,%26quot; Abel finds. %26quot;Sometimes, in fact, the cancer returns more aggressively than before, since the chemo fosters the growth of resistant cell lines.%26quot; Besides, the chemo has severely damaged the body%26#039;s own defenses, the immune system and often the kidneys as well as the liver.

In an especially dramatic table, Dr. Abel displays the results of chemotherapy in patients with various types of cancers, as the improvement of survival rates, compared to untreated patients. This table shows:

-In colorectal cancer: No evidence survival is improved.

-Gastric cancer: No clear evidence.

-Pancreatic cancer: Study completely negative. Longer survival in control (untreated) group.

-Bladder: No clinical trial done.

-Breast cancer: No direct evidence that chemotherapy prolongs survival; its use is %26quot;ethically questionable.%26quot;

-Ovarian cancer: No direct evidence.

-Cervix and uterus: No improved survival.

-Head and neck: No survival benefit but occasional shrinkage of tumors.

Five hundred years ago, people said the world was flat. Today, people say that if the FDA and AMA haven%26#039;t blessed something, it can%26#039;t be real good. Well, here%26#039;s something I know to be real AND good. It%26#039;s a little different take on cancer treatment–

In 1990, I had Hodgkin%26#039;s Lymphoma, stage 3-B, but I%26#039;ve survived. My doctors were great people, but they were limited to surgery, chemo and radiation by profitable AMA treatment policy. During the year in treatment, I started learning about alternative medicine. I%26#039;m a retired engineer, and this is what I%26#039;ve pieced together–our IMMUNE SYSTEMS become weakened by poor nutrition, lack of exercise and reduced oxygen. Once that happens, our body becomes vulnerable to common STRESSORS. Stressors can be environmental, like viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, food additives, electromagnetic waves or pollution. They can be internal things like emotional or job stress, or poisonous people in our lives. Aging is also a contributing factor. So this means:

WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM + STRESSORS = DISEASE (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.)

Our bodies have 60 trillion–yes, trillion–cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.

It takes a LONG time, usually, or a high level of stressors, to weaken the immune system to the point where it won%26#039;t do its job, but once cancer has formed, it will generally spread rapidly.

Prostate cancer is related to heredity, diet, and ethnicity. And sometimes it just happens without any obvious risk factors.

Most commonly, it%26#039;s discovered as part of a routine physical exam. In most cases, diagnosis precedes the appearance of any clinical symptoms. Advanced cases of prostate cancer may be accomanied by disruption of urinary or sexual functions. Once the cancer metastasizes, it tends to lodge in bone, especially in the spine and pelvic areas. In the final stages, the cancer weakens bones, causing spontaneous fractures progressing to painful failure of the skeletal system.|||Difficulty in urination.|||Symptoms: urinary frequency, hesitancy when urinating and lack of erection. Causes who really knows what starts any cancer off|||The cause of prostate cancer is unknown, but hormonal, genetic, environmental, and dietary factors are thought to play roles. The following risk factors have been linked with development of this condition:

Age: There is a strong correlation between increasing age and developing prostate cancer. The incidence of prostate cancer increases steadily from fewer than 1 in 100,000 for men aged 40 years to 1146 per 100,000 in men aged 85 years. The median age at diagnosis of prostate cancer is 70.5 years. More than 80% of prostate cancers are diagnosed in men older than 65 years. Autopsy records indicate that 70% of men older than 90 years have at least one region of cancer in their prostate.

Race: African American men are 1.5-2 times more likely than white men to develop prostate cancer. African American men also appear to develop prostate cancer at an earlier age.

Genetic factors: Men who have a history of prostate cancer in their family, especially if it was a first-degree relative such as a father or brother, are at an increased risk. This risk may be 2-3 times greater than the risk for men without a family history of the disease.

Diet: A diet high in fat has been associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer.

Chemical agents: Exposure to chemicals such as cadmium has been implicated in the development of prostate cancer.

There is no proven link between frequency of sexual activity and prostate cancer risk

Most men with prostate cancer have no symptoms. This is particularly true of early prostate cancer.

Most prostate cancers are discovered incidentally when a digital rectal exam is performed.

A digital rectal exam is part of a thorough regular health examination. Digital refers to finger.

During the digital rectal exam, the examiner inserts a gloved and lubricated finger in the rectum to feel the prostate for abnormalities.

Symptoms usually appear when the tumor causes some degree of urinary blockage at the bladder neck or the urethra.

The usual symptoms include difficulty in starting and stopping the urinary stream, increase in frequency of urination, and pain while urinating.

The urinary stream may be diminished (urinary retention), or it may simply dribble out.

Even after urination, there is a sense of bladder fullness because the bladder has not been fully emptied.

Less common symptoms are blood in the urine (hematuria), painful ejaculation, or impotence (inability to have an erection).

These 3 symptoms are uncommon in early stages of the disease. They usually occur when the cancer is advanced.

As the cancer advances to cause a greater blockage, bladder function may deteriorate further.

Men with such advanced cancers sometimes experience recurring urinary tract infections.

Despite these symptoms, many men do not seek medical care until the cancer has spread. Symptoms of metastatic disease include fatigue, malaise, and weight loss. Spread to the bones causes deep bone pain, especially in the hips and back, and bone fractures from weakening of the bone.|||my uncle was diagnosis at 28 with p cancer he was extermely overweight|||my father in law had prostate cancer 6 years ago, he had difficulty passing water, and alot of griping pains around his bladder region, he had radiotherapy and is still okay today, it is one of the most treatable cancers, sometimes if left too long it can go into your bones the cancer but i have to STIPULATE, this is not common and it never happened to my father in law, he was just told this at christies.|||The cause is old age, the symptom is you fail a PSA blood test.|||some times its only found through a blood test called Psa and you can have symtoms like not passing water properly or bladder pain my brother found out about his while seeing his uroligist over a bladder pain after him having kidney stones .hope this helps you.
