Yes - this is true. In July 2003, an Australian research team published a medical study which concluded that frequent masturbation and/or ejacualtion via sexual intercourse, can help prevent the development of prostate cancer.

Researchers questioned over 1,000 men who had developed prostate cancer and 1,250 who had not about their sexual habits. What they found was that those who had ejaculated the most between the ages of 20 and 50 were the least likely to develop the cancer. The protective effect was greatest while the men were in their 20s. Men who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop prostate cancer later in life.

The researchers suggest that ejaculating may prevent carcinogens accumulating in the prostate gland. The prostate provides a fluid into semen during ejaculation that activates sperm and prevents them sticking together. The fluid has high concentrations of substances including potassium, zinc, fructose and citric acid, which are drawn from the bloodstream. Frequent ejaculation has a flushing-out-effect, the more you flush the ducts out, the less there is to hang around and damage the cells that line them. A similar connection has been found between breast cancer and breastfeeding, where lactating appeared to %26quot;flush out%26quot; carcinogens, reduce a woman%26#039;s risk of the disease.

There are also some other helathy benefits to frequent masturbation/ejaculation:

It can help with people that have insomnia, helping their bodies to relax after wards.

It can help to stimulate the immune system to help build up resistance to common infections.

It can help with depression by the release mood elevating hormones.

So - masturbation is not only fun - it turns out that it is also good for you =o)|||sure whatever helps you justify it……lol|||Probably not. If it were true, no one would ever get prostate cancer.|||It doesn%26#039;t prevent it. It strengthens the muscle around it so it helps prevent incontinence|||i don%26#039;t think there%26#039;s %26#039;muscle%26#039; around it. those are called tissues|||maybe|||It may well be the case that masturbation does help prevent cancer of the prostate because regular ejaculation keeps the prostate clear of stale seminal fluid which has an irritant effect. Regular contractions of the prostate during orgasmic ejaculation also assist in maintaining the condition of the prostate itself. Go ahead - you are doing yourself more good than harm|||Yes, it does, just as receiving oral sex twice a day and have regular sex three times a day will also prevent prostate cancer. If your wife/girlfriend initiates threesomes with other women nightly for you, you will never develop any cancers, ever. Just don%26#039;t miss a night.|||If it is, I%26#039;ll never have a problem.

Go to a yearly checkup at the doctor… it%26#039;s a little uncomfortable.. they stick a finger or probe up you rear..|||You get a check up…ASAP…It could be a life saver if you find out sooner than later…|||The only sure way is to have a biopsy done of your prostate. The doctor will only do this though if he/she feels your prostate is enlarged.|||YOU GO WITH A DOCTOR…. BUT DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT?|||Ask your doctor!|||When you urinate do you stop then start and / or maybe some times just a little urine comes out at a time ,

Is your urine a dark tan color or has some blood in it?|||let the Doctor stick his finger in but mack sure he pout Vaseline in his finger.|||Difficulty urinating is a symptom however an enlarged prostate has the same symptom. Men should be tested once a year.|||See you doctor. He will do a manual exam of you prostate and a blood test called a PSA or Prostate Specific Antigen from this the doctor will decide if you require further testing. An ultra sound test and or a biopsy is next.

Is it a good place? Yes. But it%26#039;s not necessarily better than any other cancer center, so check to see what you have locally. What you need is a prostate cancer specialist.|||Mayo clinic is as good as most academic institutions. Prostate cancer is so common, all urologists and oncologists have good experience in treating it. If it is early stage, a urologist is likely to be the one to treat it. Once it becomes insensitive to your hormones (testosterone) and spreads, then an oncologist is the best one to see. Just remember, more men will die with prostate cancer than OF prostate cancer. Many specialists believe, most men would eventually get prostate cancer if they lived long enough. When it somes to cancer, second opinions are always recommended. Good luck.|||Take a different approach: research what treatment you think is most advanced, and then query hospitals who has the latest equipment to do it.

Concerned about gridlock? Google %26quot;Hallitubes%26quot; and write us what you think: hallitubevolunteer1@yahoo.com|||look into giving your body time to build up the immune system which will kill off the cancer cells. This is nothing new this science is being taught at medical schools

around the world. It is safe and natural without side effects.|||Probably… what I would look for is a comprehensive treatment center that does pre and post stage testing with the same scanning equipment. CT or Nuclear Med or PET scans. When doing follow up… scanners differ… so going to the same one and not different ones will help in your treatment plan.

I heard there was a recent development but I need to be sure.|||digital exam is still the best way to detect prostate cancer. =)|||I believe there is a blood test to detect problems, but I dont think a doc would do the test without the digital exam. The digital exam checks for enlargement.|||sure fire way to know is ask your doctor or a health professional. They could tell you if there is a better way of finding out.|||The other big way of screening for prostate cancer is testing for prostate specific antigen (PSA) in the blood. It is not a perfect screening test, but it does tend to be higher in patients who have prostate cancer than in patients without it. The sources below have more information about it.|||There appears to be other methods.

See:

http://www.yourhealthbase.com/prostate_c…|||Yes there is a new test but unfortunately it requires a digital exam. It measures the PCA3 gene that is expressed in the more aggressive prostate cancer tumors. Try this link:

http://www.gen-probe.com/|||Yes there%26#039;s a blood test. I had it done.|||Best known is PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) test. It is done using a blood sample.

However some prostate cancers do not cause a significant increase of blood PSA, that is why it is recommended to also do the digital exam.|||There are a couple of tests, but they are not sure if they are conclusive. Just in case - Try Vitamin C therapy. A few years ago a cancer specialist came out with a paper that said the best cancer/infection fighter found to date was Interferon. At the time it was $15,000 a gram. The paper also said that Interferon was a by-product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your body. Shortly after that the FDA tried to make Vitamin C by prescription only. Guess why? The FDA has the RDA for Vitamin C set at 64 mg a day, just enough to ward off scurvy. Linus Pauling, who got a Nobel Prize for his work with Vitamin C and a second Nobel Prize for Organic Chemistry, said that 1000 mg a day should be the minimum and 2000 mg a day if you are sick or smoke. He played tennis almost daily until the day he died at 96. Personally, I got sick twice a year for 2 weeks at a time, for more than 20 years, with something to this day the doctors have no idea what it was, but for a week in the middle of those 2 weeks I was flat on my back. I started Vitamin C therapy once I gave up on the doctors. I took enough to be asymptomatic for those 2 weeks. Too much and I got diarrhea and too little and I got sick. Within a narrow range, and it followed a bell curve over those 2 weeks, I was not sick. At the height I was taking 40,000 mg a day and 300,000 over the 2 weeks. After 2 years of that I have not been sick since – more than 15 years. Vitamin C acts as a natural diuretic so you need to drink a lot of water and watch your body in total, but my kidneys did not dissolve as the doctors predicted, or get massive kidney stones as other predicted. I did not dissolve my bones as some predicted or completely calcify my joints as others predicted. I had no side effects at all. It might be something to consider|||While the blood test PSA and digital rectal exams (DRE) are ways to Screen for prostate cancer, they are not diagnostic tests. The only way to diagnose prostate cancer is by a transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) biopsy of the prostate. PSA and DRE%26#039;s can be useful to detect if there are abnormalities that are suspicious for cancer, but they are far from perfect. PSA can be falsely elevated in people who have other inflammations or infections of the prostate.|||Where could I find a treatment center in the L.A area

/South Bay?

So if you have a disease it can be found and treated as soon as possible.|||Well, if you want to know if you have those things so you can get treated, or in the case of STI%26#039;s not spread them to others, you need to be screened and tested.

the pain started from infection|||if the cancer goes with it, good luck.|||sorry your going thru something as serious as that, if the doctors can remove the cancer, im sure with the right medication your pain should go away, good luck to you|||Yes, I would say once it is removed the back pain will go away. Youll be getting rid of the problem that caused it. That is if, that is the only reason why its hurting. If it doesnt go away, try a chiropractor, I did recently and I was amazed with the results. I had always been against them, but now Im a believer in them.

Contact the manufacturer of the medication, sometimes they are willing to help you out when you deal with them directly. (AstraZeneca mfg.)|||Sometimes the manufacturers have some programs to help with the cost of drugs|||I suggest he write to the pharmaceutical manufacterer of the drug and inquire as to whether or not they have an assistance program for payment. Many of the pharmaceutical companies have set aside funding for just such a purpose.|||Go directly to the drug manufacturer! Many of them will help with the cost. I did not know this until my neice was diagnosed with MS and had massive amounts of medicine that she couldn%26#039;t pay for. She went to astr-zenaca.com I think. Check it out, or check out the website of the company that makes the drug…almost all of them will help.

Good luck, and I am sorry to hear that your father-in-law is ill.|||Most pharmaceutical companies have a patient%26#039;s assistance program. Give them a call and see how it works and if he will qualify.

Good luck.|||have a topless car wash, that should bring in some money to help, you do want to help dont you
