Prostate cancer usually does not cause symptoms in its early stages. Most men don%26#039;t know they have it until it is found during a regular medical exam. When there are symptoms, they mostly involve having problems with urination. Symptoms may include:

Having difficulty starting your urine stream.

Having a weaker-than-normal urine stream.

Being unable to urinate at all.

Having to urinate often.

Feeling that your bladder is not emptying completely when you urinate.

Having to get up at night to urinate.

Having pain or a burning feeling when you urinate.

Having blood in your urine.

Having a deep pain in your lower back, abdomen, hip, or pelvis.|||Only your Urologist can answer this for sure. Please make an appointment.|||Can%26#039;t wee properly.|||You can get your PSA measured by doctor. That is how they tell. In case you have it see this webpage below (at bottom of page).

My father is basically in good health, however has had 2 major strokes and 2 TIAs. He has recovered well, with only a slight numbness on his left side as a permenant reminder. Dad has an elevated b.p., is on blood thinner for prevention of strokes, and has only 30% kidney function. He is currently receiving meds for each.

In the past month, he has experienced some discomfort when needing to urinate. He has great urgency to %26quot;go,%26quot; yet only nominal amounts come out. He has lost 12 pounds in the past 5 weeks.|||I%26#039;m actually more surprised that you%26#039;re taking the time to ask an informal internet forum rather than checking him into the hospital. Unfortunately, your question contradicts itself in that you say he%26#039;s basically in good health, yet he has advanced prostate cancer, has had 2 strokes and 2 TIAs, with only 30% kidney function. (I would tend to think that dialysis might be in order.) I wouldn%26#039;t exactly call that good health, basic or otherwise. If his prostate cancer is advanced, and he doesn%26#039;t receive treatment, eg., have his prostate gland removed (this may not save his life if the cancer has spread), then he most certainly will die. In which case, he should be made to feel as comfortable as possible. He can be treated with various meds, such as morphine, for the pain if recovery is deemed unattainable, but without treatment he most definitely with feel pain and tremendous discomfort. Unless he%26#039;s been diagnosed as terminal, get him into surgery ASAP. Besides, at 87, or any age for that matter, why would you want to experience any pain at all, if you could help it???|||alot of pain|||he%26#039;ll find it REALLY hard to go to the john. for both #1 and especially #2. and with his elevated BP, could be disaterious. get help and medication.|||Why not get treatment? I have Prostate Cancer, am 67, and it was successfully cured. My doctor is in Chicago and has a very high success rate. His oldest patient is 92 years old. He is really very good. He is both and Oncologist and Urologist. I%26#039;m sorry but I don%26#039;t know how to contact you. Forget surgery and %26quot;the seeds%26quot;. They are not that successful. The cancer can grow back. Be very careful!|||I agree with the posting that said your father should get medical treatment fast. On the other hand, I wish the posting by Zorro can be more specific such as: What is the name of the Chicago Oncologist/Urogolist; What is the name of his treatment? So can we have it please?

If you wish to contact, say me, for instance, go to http//www.fm/bnn. There you can find my email address.

Thank you very much.

No kidney infections will never lead to prostate cancer but be careful drink plenty of water and consume less protien food because chances of you getting a kidney failure is very high.|||No they will not lead to prostate cancer.|||no|||you look like a woman so you yourself would not get prostate cancer since you don%26#039;t have a prostate…

if your recurring kidney infections are due to excess toxins in your kidneys and bladder, you might want to go to see a traditional chinese medicine specialist (TCM). I had the most success with that sort of treatment.

God bless!|||They are totally unrelated.

It is a bit complicated, but this link explains it. In a short simple form, the pituitary gland initiates a sequence of events that ends in the production of testosterone. Testosterone can make the cells of prostate cancer grow and reproduce more quickly. I learned quite a lot about this sort of thing when my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer.|||pituitary gland is responsible for the reproductive organs in males, essentially, if the pituitary gland stops working, chaos.|||As Katy C answered, the pituitary gland is in charge of releasing hormones, both in males and females. Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that affects a part of the male sex-organ system; the prostate is in charge of making part of the fluid in semen. Hormones are required for producing semen, and thus comes in the pituitary gland. Without the pituitary gland, the prostate would have no spark to get it going: hormones.

Masturbation,is it unhealthy, energ… draining on your body ??

For example 1,some Athletes(boxers, etc) abstain from all sexual activities to increase stamina to gain the winning edge.

2. An ancient times a Chinese ruler swore his secret to longevity was to have sex daily with as many beautiful women he could find.(he was 112yrs when he died)So what gives?|||Use it or lose it.

The tubes become clogged and some homeopathic providers have long believed that ejaculating decreases the risk of prostrate cancer.

As to athletes, well, why do so many get themselves in tizzies over unwanted sexual advances?

And if they abstain, it is not for very long.

Some of the best athletes were notorious womanizers, so maybe it is just a myth or superstition some believe in.

Or maybe they are so pumped up on %26#039;roids they can%26#039;t perform anyway.

And didn%26#039;t the Spartans, savage fighters of Greece have young men along to service their sexual needs.|||No, the two are unrelated.

And if you stop masturbating/having intercourse/etc. you will eventually have nocturnal emissions (%26quot;wet dreams%26quot;), the body%26#039;s response to a build-up of sperm and seminal fluid.

If you want to beat it, beat it. It won%26#039;t stop you from getting in shape or getting cancer.|||that does not give u cancer. ppl who get some eveery day can still get cancer|||masterbation is a way of releasing semen. it will not drain your life force as such. abstaining from sex won%26#039;t increase your stamina as sexual participation increases blood flow and heart regularity (circulation) success in life is about being happy. he was obviously happy having lots of sex. also. 112 years in ancient times in not the current equivelent since the dawn of our current calender.

he wont go to the doctor? he%26#039;s losing weight I don%26#039;t know why he%26#039;s 62 and just retired. does stress make you lose weight? smoking?|||Depending on how quickly and how much weight your dad is losing is an important factor. Fast weight lose in a short period of time definitely requires a trip to the doctors immediately especially with that family history. I am not trying to scare you it may be nothing serious at all but it doesn%26#039;t hurt to go get checked. God forbid it was cancer if caught in the early stages it is very curable. Please tell your dad the how important he is in all your lives and how much you all need him. Tell him if he won%26#039;t go for himself to go for you. The reason he probably doesn%26#039;t want to go is because he%26#039;s scared (I know first hand cancer survivor of 7 years) but let him know you%26#039;ll be there for him always. Good Luck and God Bless.|||i think if he is losing weight he needs to go to the doctor and if cancer runs in the family he needs to get tested for it because he very well might have prostate cancer|||Is he eating? Is there blood in his urine or stool? He really needs to get to a doctor for at least a check up.|||GET A PSA TEST DONE IMMEDIATELY!!!! Stress, change in activities, smoking….all of that is a factor in losing weight. Is he depressed from being retired??? Start with a good physical, including all blood work. Good luck and God Bless|||I don%26#039;t know, but my dad was looking a little thinner and we found out he has stage 4 lung cancer and he is terminal. I don%26#039;t want to scare you but there is that possibility. But you know stress can do all sorts of things. Can you trick him into going to the doctor? Prostate cancer can be life or death.|||Stress, age, smoking can but he%26#039;s retired and it shouldn%26#039;t be long before he starts gaining weight, unless he%26#039;s pretty active!

If he won%26#039;t go to a doctor, convince him to quit smoking. If he doesn%26#039;t begin to gain weight, then you should be very concerned!

Have your Dad start taking Vitamins and Mineral Suppliments.

Good Luck!
