%26quot;On July 16, 2003, an Australian research team led by Graham Giles of The Cancer Council published a medical study [3] which concluded that frequent masturbation by males may help prevent the development of prostate cancer. The study also indicated that this would be more helpful than ejaculation through sexual intercourse because intercourse can transmit diseases that may increase the risk of cancer instead.%26quot;|||Like I stated before, there are no clear studies. THe key word in that study is %26#039;May%26#039;, it does not say it will. Report It
|||Rather, is it true that masturbation is one of the causes of prostate cancer? Research that and get back to us.|||Masturbating may protect against prostate cancer. It will make you go blind. It will make your palms grow hairy. … myths about masturbation are largely a thing of … true, Gen X should never see a case of prostate cancer. Time to go lessen … may increase the risk of prostate cancer|||YES, it%26#039;s true.|||you CANNOT get cancer from jacking off…Its healthy, it helps prevent things going wrong with your prostate…|||There are no clear studies that prove that masturbation is healthy and keeps the prostate healthy. For every study that says it is, there is one that says it does not. The prostate is not a muscle but a gland, so it cannot get stronger by using it more. Over-use (3 ejaculations or more a week) would cause abbrasions, which can cause it to become congested and inflamed, which can lead to prostate issues.

Pretty rare under 50.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostate_ca…|||There is no set age it can happen at any age. If you have a family history you should be checked on a regular basis. There have been several men in their 20s and thirties who have died from it so be vigilant about check ups. It is not uncommon under 50 as some one states.|||Generally, as a rule, men at the age of 50. But, this is not to say that it cannot occur sooner or later. Doc%26#039;s check men for Prostate Cancer at, or, about the age of 50 or, sooner, if they have certain symptoms or, if there is a strong family history. Believe it or not, most health insurance companies will NOT cover certain Prostate problems unless, the person is aged 50 or over. I hope that this helped some.|||Puberty, but its rare. Cancer can get to anyone, one way or another.|||Pretty darn young. Here are some stories of men in their 30s and 40s. I once heard also of a 9-year old with prostate cancer.

and why would they need to do that finger wave to check for it if you can pee a nice stream?|||Problem in urination is one of the Symptoms of Prostate cancer, but it is not necessary that this symptom should be there. Without urinary symptoms also the cancer of Prostate can be prevalent and develop. One of the bad thing with any Cancer is that it comes without any indication what so ever. So in your pee is good and ok it is not certain there is no cancer. You have to watch out other symptoms.

Symptoms

Early prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms. Often it is diagnosed during the workup for an elevated PSA noticed during a routine checkup. Sometimes, however, prostate cancer does cause symptoms, often similar to those of diseases such as benign prostatic hypertrophy. These include frequent urination, increased urination at night, difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine, blood in the urine, and painful urination. Prostate cancer may also cause problems with sexual function, such as difficulty achieving erection or painful ejaculation. There also may be unexplained pain in the lower abdomen and/or pelvis.

Advanced prostate cancer may cause additional symptoms as the disease spreads to other parts of the body. The most common symptom is bone pain, often in the vertebrae (bones of the spine), pelvis or ribs, from cancer which has spread to these bones. Prostate cancer in the spine can also compress the spinal cord, causing leg weakness and urinary and fecal incontinence.-|||Because difficulty urinating is only one symptom. You might not experience this symptom until the tumor has grown too large to do anything. As much as it sucks, you should def go for a prostate check up every six months, just to be safe.|||In the earliest stages, you can still pee pretty well. The finger thing is to check to see if the prostate is enlarged and if you%26#039;re over 50, it%26#039;s very important to get that checked because if you do get it, you want it taken care of at the earliest stages. And, it will start to cause an interruption in your pee.|||I wouldn%26#039;t worry about it. I have a female doctor and I enjoy getting mine checked.

Well, start with your doctor.

Online, start with the web sites below.|||Just go straight to the website below. Um, there are many cancers that can be cured. The thing is, doctors give chemo therapy with no other choice. And if you dont follow through, eventually the doctor says that there is nothing they can do. Thats not true. They want to prescribe chemo as a way to make money right before you die. With chemo, you are not getting sunburned, you are practically microwaved. The chemo kills the cancer cells and your body cells at the same time. And if they can kill the cancer before they kill you, then you are cured. But, what about after? Your body is damaged and your health is deteriorated. You cannot live pass another 5 years. Do you know anybody who has lived for more then 5 years after chemo? Not too many. And compared to the masses, its nothing. So, you will eventually die taking chemo. I suggest looking up CESIUM CHLORIDE, OXYGEN DROPS, GREEN ALGAE, PAW PAW, etc etc. They will cure cancers even when doctors have given up, and some with results as high as 90%. These medicines cannot say anything about cancer on their labels. They have to be sold as health products or vitamins. This way, people wont flock to it, thus leaving behind chemo therapy. Their websites are allowed to tell you how to use it and which cancers it cures. Chemo is what makes money for doctors, with pretty much negative results if you ask me. These treatments when taken in combination can combat cancers like a common cold. I dont make any money out of this and only trying to help you so please dont get me wrong. I just dont want the same thing to happen to you. After it was too late, I asked the doctors about those medicines, and they said that it %26quot;might%26quot; work. They are afraid to say that it will because if they say the wrong things, they will be up against the medical community. Why didnt he say anything about those before? Because of money. I mean, if anybody can create these non toxic medicines, then nobody will take the chemo and radiation. Chemo and radiation is pretty much like microwaving you and pumping you with chemicals with no chance to survive 2 years later. I urge you to hurry as pancreatic cancer is dangerous. Just call them up and tell them what kind of cancer you have, your age, and your health condition and they will sell you a complete package. It will be costly sometimes because they may tell you to drink this for 6 months, etc etc. But, its well worth it, and many people have lived even after doctors have given up. I was too late for my friends, but if I can help someone else, I would be happy. Take care my friend, and may god take care of you.

the drs want him 2 take a biapsy test and he wont. how can we convince him to take the test….he understands the imprtance. He himself is a chiropracter. i think hes just scared , he needs to lay down to even get a shot…what can we do to get him to take the biopsy?|||My father is a workaholic and he would do anything then go to the doctors well, he has cancer. And it could have been taken care of right away if he went in. Because he delayed this he has a 30% survival rate that he will be here in five years.

I don%26#039;t mean to be mean but scare the **** out of him, pull stuff from the internet show him the facts. This is your father, knowledge is power.

Also have the doctors explain the procedure. My father was the same way, he never had a shot since he was a little boy and never swallowed a pill.

NOW every month he takes over 60 pills and has his blood drawn every two weeks under go chemo and have a port in his heart.

I will be thinking of your father and hope it works out. Your father is in shock right now and that is okay. Give it a week and have people talk to him.

I hope I helped, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.|||You cannot make him get the biopsy but you might print out articles of how early detection saves lives. Also do you know any of his friends who have prostate cancer?? Perhaps they can talk to him. My dad has had it for 16 years now and is still here and doing ok. Tell your dad how much you love him and want him to be around for grandchildren and weddings etc and tell him how much it would mean to you if he had the biopsy done just for peace of mind.|||It can be cured if he catches it early. If not, he can die or loose important parts of his anatomy. It can always get worse.|||Hi Coookies

Since your dad is a chiro then he should meet this one (Dr Erci Pearl).

I would watch this video and learn about this new healing frequency on the planet. We are changing and evolving quickly in this milinium.

Best of health to you|||Duh! All guys have 50% chance of prostate cancer. You either get it or you don%26#039;t, simple as that…|||every man has a 50% chance of prostate cancer these days|||Then there%26#039;s a 50% chance he doesn%26#039;t!

Yes, I can thing of many things I%26#039;d rather do. but it only takes 5 minutes, then it%26#039;s done, and in a few days, you know what%26#039;s up!

If caught early, it%26#039;s one of the easier kinds of cancers to treat, if caught too late,…………. you know what I mean.

Tell him you want him to stay around for a long, long time.Let%26#039;s find out exactly what we%26#039;re dealing with.|||Chiropractor or not, it sounds like your dad doesn%26#039;t want to know what could potentially be a scarey diagnosis.

Of course he is aware of everything related to getting tested early on, so no need to pummel him with info and facts.

Instead, I would try to relate to him on an emotional level and let him know that you understand his fear. Perhaps getting him to talk to another male the same age might help. Even if he doesnt seem to respond he will be listening and it may help.|||you cannot force him for sure. What you can do is find him some information about relationship of early diagnosis and treatments.maybe if hell find out the chance of cure with early detection vs late,he might change hes mind.goodluck|||If he thinks a biopsy is bad, just wait until he has to have chemotherapy or surgery for cancer. Or until he has terminal cancer and has to have shots for pain. Help him realize that a biopsy is a piece of cake compared to extensive cancer treatment or suffering terminal cancer.

The side effects can be miserable, especially the hot flashes, but also there%26#039;s fatigue, itchiness, malaise, and just feeling %26quot;blah%26quot;. All this may diminish radically after about 6 months to a year, which, of course, is a long time but well worth it. An occasional mild hot flash is better than having cancer. Soy products are used by women to prevent or reduce hot flashes during menopause, so you might benefit from substituting soy milk for cow%26#039;s milk, and also take a heaping tablespoon of soy protein powder on your cereal once a day, plus take mega soy capsules available at a health food store. Soy has also been found to be helpful in reducing prostate cancer metastisis and recurrence. So I suggest that you consider it. Too, studies have shown that increased soy consumption WITH increased exercise is most beneficial. One needs to be proactive in fighting this disease.

Chitiqua%26#039;s answer was great! I also have heard of the same study suggesting that flax OIL is bad for the prostate. Eating the seeds is not going to get enough of the oil out to do anything, but they will make a good laxative. In order to digest any of the oil in the seeds, you need to grind it up in a coffee grinder. The body cannot break down the tough, flat shell of the seeds. A nutritionist friend also told me that the body does not assimilate flax oil very well at all…the omega-3%26#039;s (the good fats) in flax is chemically %26quot;locked up%26quot; in the oil and cannot be extracted by the body like they can in fish oils.

If you want fish oils, I recommend Nordic Naturals.

If I had prosate cancer, I wouldn%26#039;t be touching flax at all, based upon that one study.|||I wouldn%26#039;t understand why- the prostate isn%26#039;t part of the digestive system.

Besides, flax seeds have tons of Omegas and antioxidants which may be beneficial in fighting cancers.|||Research oscillates…..one day something is good for you, the next it%26#039;s bad. I recently read that flax seed oil can actually increase prostate tumor growth. %26quot;….disturbing research published by Dr. Charles %26quot;Snuffy%26quot; Myers at the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville. He has evidence indicating that flax seed oil may promote the growth of prostate tumors. In someone with prostate cancer, I would avoid flax seed oil and instead take 2-3 grams per day of fish oil%26quot; (Dr. Dean Ornish). The above statement refers to flax seed oil, the actual SEED seems to be ok.

True? It%26#039;s one study. Still if you have prostate cancer, it might be wise to go with the fish oil for your omega-3 fatty acids.|||I can%26#039;t think of any.

Check out Pat Quillen%26#039;s excellent book Beating Cancer with Nutrition. It is a goldmine of info.|||forget the flax seeds, try pure pomegranate juice for your prostate.|||Listen to Chiquita she is right !|||Maybe so but I know that flax seed can make you very, very sick if you have I.B.S. (Irritable bowel syndrome).|||I don%26#039;t follow|||If the patient is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer then flax seeds are bad as are vitamin-c, antioxidants, tomatoes, etc. Best stick with the Dr approved treatments.|||Flaxseed works well and better when you add glyconutrients.
