wow, 110 characters isn%26#039;t much room for a full question…i did pretty good though…

…is frequent masturbation, to conclusion, a contributing factor in testicular cancer cases?|||masturbation = masturb@tion. And the answer is no. In fact, frequent masturb@tion can actually decrease the risk of prostate cancer, which is a more common cancer than testicular cancer. Read about it here:

I know I have cancer but can it spread this fast to so many parts of my body so quickly?|||Cancer can spread quickly or slowly by the characteristics of the cancer itself. Unfortunately, depending on the mutations of the cancer it may have genes that help it to spead faster, like the ability to invade blood vessels, which means it can travel anywhere in the body. Also, chemotherapy, radiation and surgery treatments may not get all of the cancer, allowing it to come back.

If you have not seen a doctor about these new developments, do so immediately! Good luck.|||You need black salve and the stuff you drink to get rid of cancer. email beardedragon@usintouch.com for help. She is really good, this stuff works.|||Cancer%26#039;s progress can%26#039;t be predicted - educated guess maybe. Every body is different so there are %26quot;fast%26quot; stories and %26quot;slow%26quot; stories. Hope you just have an infection, good luck.|||I am very sorry to hear about your cancer. Once you have cancer, it has a mind of its own.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 1999. To make a long story short, she had her lymphnodes removed and given a %26quot;clean bill of health%26quot;. Five years later, it metastaticized to her both of her lungs so she was put on back on chemo (no radiation because it was the same area she had radiation for the breast cancer). After months of treatment she was told it had spread again, and so more chemo was in order along with Herceptin. She was just diagnosed in February, 2 years later, with metastatic breast cancer in her bones, primarily in her right hip. Now undergoing her last few days of radiation and starts more invasive chemotherpy very soon. Surgical removal of the metastic cancer was not an option because it is metastatic cancer. Once is spreads from the first site, you cannot remove where it spreads to.

I am not telling you this to scare you, but to show you there is hope and you have to keep fighting. I would suggest you to find a doctor who specializes in metastatic cancer if you can, or haven%26#039;t already.

This is very scary, and I cannot imagine what you are going through. Keep fighting and going on with your normal daily life as much as possible, I know it is hard, and think positive. I will pray for you and hope everything that can be done is done to treat your cancer.|||only your Oncologist has the answers. go and get treatment a s a p.|||YES IT CAN, PLEASE GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET SOME TESTS RUN! I WILL PRAY FOR YOU, MY SISTER AND FATHER BOTH HAVE CANCER RITE NOW AND IT IS A VERY SCARY THING!|||im so sorry honey ,but i dont think it can spread that quick .try to get rid asap .they can always take your ovaries and stuff out , and you would not have that kind of cancer,they can alwats take a lump out the breast too. feel better|||Hi

I am a detox specialist and has ever helped people rid themselves of their cancer related problems.

Cancer cells may spread rapidly if you do not take care of your body.

Would you consider a detox to rid yourself of the cancer cells?

The detox is simple. All you need to do is three things.

Number one, follow the detox programme which requires you to change your diet a little bit. Eg, take more vege and less meat and seafoods.

Number two, use 1 minute a day to take some natural health foods that I take to enhance the speed and the effect of the detox.

Number three, drink lots of water to flush the toxins out..

And that%26#039;s it.

The rest is up to you.

So what do you think? ;)

If you are keen to find out more about my detox programme, you can email me at verityy@yahoo.com.

My parents think that my laptop is going to give me cancer. I couldn%26#039;t find anything about it on the internet though. (Or maybe I just didn%26#039;t look hard enough.)

I don%26#039;t think it can, because when you have a laptop in your lap it is on your thighs, not near your ovaries.|||There is no documented scientific data that links laptops to ovarian cancer or any type of cancer. In all fairness, there have been no studies done one way or the other. So no one really knows. However, if this bothers you or your parents a solution might be to use a lap desk to place the laptop on while using it.|||It does have an effect cause its radiation and heat that is on your lap.|||i have a laptop and i do not know about a woman but if you search for health dangers for men and laptops there is alot and it says do not keep it on your lap because it can decrease fertility by up to 40%

so i always have a pillow or something like that to rest it on my lap

just maybe use a pillow just to be safe

-jake|||I have never heard of this rumor, however I have just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I have been using my laptop for years.

It has been proven that some of the chemicals, if directly exposed to the human body, can produce cancer cells. However, it is very unlikely for a person to have cancer from just having a laptop sitting on their lap. You would have to crack open the motherboard and swallow it for the cells to penetrate your body well enough.|||Absolutely not!

I have been to doctors 3-4 times for bloating, sweating profusely, irregular periods, nausea(frequently), pain with intercourse, extremely tired, constipation, dizzy(off and on) and I have had an ovarian cyst 13 years ago. My %26quot;gut feeling%26quot; is that something is really wrong and getting worse FAST!! Im tired of hearing it is just stress!!! I know something is all out of sorts, there is no way I walk around feeling like this ALL day, pain , discomfort all day without soemthing being wrong, your take on this please.|||If you feel like something is wrong, then you need to trust your instincts. Don%26#039;t let a doctor tell you nothing is wrong when you feel otherwise!

Here%26#039;s a website on ovarian cancer: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ovarian…

The early warning symptoms of ovarian cancer are:

* Abdominal pressure, fullness, swelling or bloating

* Urinary urgency

* Pelvic discomfort or pain

Additional signs and symptoms that women with ovarian cancer may experience include:

* Persistent indigestion, gas or nausea

* Unexplained changes in bowel habits, including diarrhea or constipation

* Changes in bladder habits, including a frequent need to urinate

* Loss of appetite

* Unexplained weight loss or gain

* Increased abdominal girth or clothes fitting tighter around your waist

* Pain during intercourse (dyspareunia)

* A persistent lack of energy

* Low back pain

The diagnostic tests for ovarian cancer can include a pelvic exam, ultrasound, and CA 125 blood test.

If I were you, I would find a doctor that specializes in hard to treat cases (try a well known teaching hospital or clinic - my mom is having really good luck with UCLA for her yet-undiagnosed respiratory problem).

Hope this helps, and good luck!|||that%26#039;s always a chance…try a different doctor. dont tell them you have seen someone else and try to get a straight answer out of them.|||you could have a scan done at your own cost.|||Holy **** I am going through the exact same thing!!!! I recently missed my period for 3 months, I had a large cyst which caused it, I have nausea contsantly, I have fainted twice since July, bloating, and cramping. My doctor tells me over and over again nothing is wrong! Well this can%26#039;t be normal. I keep thinking I am pregnant and not, I am scared I will not be able to have children! My doctor has told me it is mostly anxiety. Well my grandmother, 3 cousins died of ovarian cancer. Now my aunt on the same side of the family has it! So I am freaked out. But of course to be tested it is going to cost me a arm and a leg! My insurance covers some things but not all! Let me know what you find out!|||YOU CAN ALWAYS REQUEST THE PHYSICIAN DO A BLOOD TEST CALLED A %26quot;CA125%26quot;. THIS WILL TELL RIGHT AWAY IF THERE IS ANY CANCER IN THE OVARIES OR UTERUS. MOST INSURANCES WILL PAY FOR THE TEST AND IF NOT THE COST IS APPROX. $125, IN FLORIDA|||I had cancer and my symptoms were nothing like yours, I had pain and bleeding, my periods lasted anywhere from 2 wks to 6 wks each time. started out spotting all month long. You can have the C125 blood test that will tell right away if cells are present. Ultrasound can also detect tumors. You have to beleive in your doctor if you dont find another doctor. Dont hesitate to get a second opinion.|||You have to be your own advocate. My aunt had stage 2 ovarian cancer and her CA125 test was negative. My aunt%26#039;s doctor (based on her symptoms) ordered a trans vaginal ultrasound which showed him right away that she had a large cyst. The cancer was found during surgery and she is free from cancer now for 7 years. I go to the same doctor and I have had some symptoms so I have the ultrasounds annually. I have not had presence of cyst and instead was diagnosed with IBS.

The symptoms you have are common to IBS (irritable bowel symptoms) and you might find cutting back on caffeine, exercising, drinking water and reducing stress can help. IBS can be very painful and I have found that caffeine causes flare ups for me.

You might also have your doctor check your hormone level. A close friend of mine went thru early menapause in her mid thirties.

Where do you go for help when you have ovarian ca. %26amp; no insurance, srs no help,ssd won%26#039;t for 6 more months? Please I need answers my friend may die before someone helps her.|||Has her oncologist said shes terminal ? or is it curable?? If shes terminal, she SHOULD be able to get SSI immediately, I did. And if shes too sick to go to them, they will do it over the phone. There are research clinical trials she may be able to get in also that would not cost her, but the important thing is to get her help ASAP! Most if not all hospitals have a fund set aside for patients who can not afford hospital bills, cant think of the name of it tho.. anyway, my aunt who is a nurse told me to go to the billing office and tell them I could not pay for my treatment (this was before i got the SSI) , and they could not turn a person down.. you have to sign a paper claiming pauper status, or did at that time. Check with her hospital and see if they have it, they will not offer it thats for sure but have to answer if they have such a program in thier hospital! Good luck and hopefully she will be getting treatment soon!

OHHHH does she or can she get Welfare, such as food stamps? Some states will give you a medical card along with the food stamps if you are sick, so that might be an option also.|||Call every University affiliated oncology center and find out if she can be entered in a research protocol. These are usually without any charge to the patient.

You can even try a google search for keywords such as %26quot;enrollment research ovarian cancer trial%26quot;.

One of the trials you should look into can be found at

www.assist-ovarian.com

Good luck and god bless you both.|||There are clinics and hospitals out there that will help her even if you do not have insurance. They will bill you but you can pay it out however much you can afford ata time, even if its only $5.00 a month as long as you pay them something. Also there may be some kind of assistance throught the state in which you live in that can help her out with the bills! Go to your local Deptartment of Human Services and ask them for help, more than likely in her situation there%26#039;s something they can do to help. Start with taking her to a clinic or hospital, make sure to ask the doctor to point you in the right direction as in what happens next. People arent going to just turn her away and let her die!

who has finished chemo and whose cancer marker states they are cancer free?|||Tumor markers do not state that you are cancer free. They only show there is no evidence of the cancer in the blood at the current time. There is no test to show that you are %26quot;cancer free,%26quot; although a PET scan would be the closest to show there is no cancer activity.

Ovarian cancer kills most people who get it. Stage I is the most curable, anything beyond that has more potential to be deadly, unfortunately. If there were any treatment I could get if I had ovarian cancer, I would take it.

So you find out you don%26#039;t have breast cancer but who knows what other types you may have?|||They recommend these as preventative screening measures. They do not test for ovarian cancer it is cervical cancer which they screen for. As well as colon cancer. They test for these because early detection is key in all cancer. These are only the select few that can be detected without invasive surgery or expensive testing.

Ovarian Cancer is not tested for as a preventative measure, but it should be for it is only the matter of an internal exam and a CA-125 test which cost about $100 to run verses $500 for an internal ultrasound.

They test for these to help prevent cancer and save lives.|||They must be the %26#039;in%26#039; ones of any season.|||Because there is a higher incidence of these type cancers|||I think it%26#039;s because they are more prevalent right now. Plus, it%26#039;s much easier to get a screening for something like that (when you%26#039;re getting an annual exam anyway). It doesn%26#039;t make much sense to be tested for say leukemia if you don%26#039;t have the symptoms…know what I mean?|||Because they are the most common types (for a obgyn to look for anyways., a dermatologist will look for skin cancer) of cancer for young/middle aged women. And they may occur with few symptoms and no history so testing may be the only method of detection. As you age other tests are recommended|||These are cancers that affect women the most..Ovarian cancer is silent and you most likely wouldn%26#039;t know you even had a problem. For instance, I still have my ovaries but no uterus.. A pap smear is not likely to catch ovarian cancer..

I have had this bump in the lips of my vaginia for about a half a year. Sometimes it burns when I go to the bathroom and have sex or if I washing down there. Is that a sign it could possibly be cancer? What are they symptoms? Thank you.|||no, ovarian cancer is inside your stomach- might be some sort or growth that becomes irritated- get it checked but it is not ovarian cancer.|||It wouldn%26#039;t be ovarian cancer there, it is probably a little cyst. There is a blood test now for ovarian cancer now, but is seldom used, why I don%26#039;t know. My doctor says too many false positives, but I did have the test. Just make an appt. with your doctor and find out what it is. It%26#039;s probably a little cyst, but could get bigger.|||You need to go to the doctor now. You have had this for half a year and haven%26#039;t been to get it checked out? I don%26#039;t know the signs for cancer, but it sounds like you could have herpes or warts. This is certainly not normal. Make an appointment now or go to the ER.|||My mom had the same thing and it was a small cancerous tumor. It was easily excised. They are slow growing and just need to be removed. Don%26#039;t wait for a full year as it can be removed now. Good Luck|||It is most likley a clogged gland.

I get these all the time. I dont believe a lump in that location has anything to do with your ovaries which are nside your body!

The only way to know for sure is to see a doctor, and if it is a clogged duct you will need to get it drained anyway.

Peace

GG|||Pls see this site. It give more details about ovarian cancer

A NOTE FROM AN RN:

I found that the CA-125 test is an ovarian screening test equivalent to a man%26#039;s PSA test prostate screen (which my husband%26#039;s doctor automatically gives him in his physical each year and insurance pays for it). I called the general practitioner%26#039;s office about having the test done. The nurse had never heard of it. She told me that she doubted that insurance would pay for it. So I called -BIGNAME- Insurance Co, and got the same response. Never heard of it - it won%26#039;t be covered.

I explained that it was the same as the PSA test they had paid for my husband for years. After conferring with whomever they confer with, she told me that the CA-125 would be covered.

It is $75 in a GP%26#039;s office and $125 at the GYN%26#039;s. This is a screening test that should be required just like a PAP smear (a PAP smear cannot detect problems with your ovaries). And insist that your insurance company pay for it.

(ironheart.net/pleaseread.html for more and then post your reply here).|||Sad but true,thousands of women some in there 20%26#039;s are being fooled into a hysterectomy by their doctors!After being told they tested positive for the cancer gene,the doctor reccomends a complete hysterectomy,only after the surgery and heartbreak are they then told that the cancer can still come back,and that even after being mutilated under the knife and loosing their precious womanly parts,that it is not a cure all!!! sick and sad both!|||No|||didnt know that, 1 of my friends mothers has that…got it removed by surgery and is fine now thakfuly.|||I%26#039;d believe that they can, but I%26#039;m not so quick to believe the statistics. 1 in 55 women is more women than have cancer of any type. Unless you mean just the ones that had their ovaries removed for cancer reasons. Hehe, did you know that 45% of statistics are made up on the spot? Or was it 67%?…:)

I was rushed for a hystorectomy in sept 06 and did not need chemo or other treatment but it is time for my 6 mth pap smear and i still owe my GYN for surgery in 06….i work but make very little..im scared to not get screened…..but i dont have the financial means..isnt there some type of help for those with histories of cancer?|||I can%26#039;t believe that your GYN won%26#039;t see you just because you owe them money. You should call their billing department and work out a payment plan so that you can be seen right away.

If that doesn%26#039;t work, you can contact your county%26#039;s department of social services. If you are low income and have large debt, they will get you in to see doctors. You must get screened.|||Yes, there is money available, contact your DHHR for a medicaid card it may be retroactive. And why aren%26#039;t you getting pap smears and everything woman done at the Planned Parenthood?? They will refer and it is free.
